Introduction

Knitting and crochet seem no longer monopoly as women activities. Mulyana, young artist from Bandung, works with knitting, crochet, sewing, and yubiyami for the last 5 years, as his basic in creating his artworks, an installation called MOGUS WORLD.

MOGUS WORLD is a fantasy world under the sea, where an octopus monster, named MOGUS, is the main character. MOGUS is Mulyana’s imaginary character. It becomes his alter-ego, so that Mul is freely sharing his personal experiences, making stories, or making artworks

It will start on 9 June 2012 until 2 July 2012, all knitting fans in Jogja are welcome to watch and see Mulyana’s exhibition of installation, at Kedai Kebun Forum (KKF) Gallery. Besides Exhibition, Mul also hold an open workshop. For those who are interested, please sign up to KKF. After that, the works during the workshop also will be exhibited at KKF Gallery.

Mulyana, a young man who was born in 1984, is familiar to be called Mul. His expertise on knitting, crochet, and sewing is always sharpened and shared the knowledge to Tobucil & Klabs community, in Bandung, as a coordinator and trainer. Mul is graduated from Fine Arts Education Program, at Indonesia Education University (UPI), Bandung, in 2005.
